Choosing a finishing oil
Oil finishes look simple, but they behave very differently once they are on the wood.
Thin coats are the key. I wipe on a little, let it soak for a few minutes and remove all the excess before it turns sticky.
For tables and chairs I prefer a hardwax oil because it handles spills better. Small boxes and bowls get a plain oil that is easy to renew.
